A 35-point effort from Max Rice led Boise State men's basketball to an 86-78 win over No. 19 New Mexico on Wednesday night.  The win is the fourth over a ranked team in a road game in program history, and the first since 2015.  Boise State faces a quick turnaround to hosting Air Force on Saturday. Tipoff is at 2 p.m.


A career performance from Tatum Thompson led Boise State women's basketball over Fresno State, 60-50, on Wednesday night. Boise State will be off on Saturday before hosting San Jose State on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m.


The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team lost to Scottsdale 2-1 before coming through with a big 20-9 victory in game two of its doubleheader Wednesday. CSI, 4-2 overall, plays Scottsdale for another doubleheader today.


From the 3A Sawtooth girls’ basketball tournament yesterday, Gooding took the win over Buhl 41 to 32.  Gooding moves on, and Buhl is eliminated.  Filer took the win over the Kimberly Bulldogs 45 to 41. Filer advances to the championship game February 7th. Kimberly: Will host Gooding on February 5th. The winner advances to the championship. The loser will be eliminated.  Gooding will travel and play against Kimberly on February 5th. The winner advances to the championship, and the loser will be eliminated.  Elsewhere it was Mountain Home 49, Burley 14.  Twin Falls took the win over wood River 61 to 26.  Twin Falls advances to the semi-finals tomorrow. Will travel and play against Jerome.  Wood River will play the loser Minico and Mountain Home matchup in a loser-out game on February 6th.


For the boys, Dietrich took the win over Hagerman 65 to 63.  Valley outlasted Glenns Ferry 60 to 39.  The Sun Valley Community School for the win over Bliss 70 to 27.  Castleford overpowered Murtaugh 65 to 44.  Camas County for the win over Butte County 59 to 56.  Oakley victors over Lighthouse Christian with a 63 to 54 score.  North Gem victors over Richfield 59 to 43 and Rat River defeated Hansen 65 to 45.


On today’s schedule for High School varsity basketball, for the boys, Mountain Home travels to Burley.  Minico will visit Jerome.  Century travels to Twin Falls to play the Bruins.  Canyon Ridge will take on Wood River. 


For the girls who are in District Playoffs, Hansen and Carey meet up in Murtaugh, Shoshone and Glenns Ferry will be in Oakley.  Richfield and Dietrich travel to Gooding.  Valley will meet up in Murtaugh, Raft River goes to Oakley.
