Tied at 29 at halftime, Boise State women's basketball outscored San Jose State 44-13 in the second half to win, 73-42, Wednesday night at ExtraMile Arena. The Broncos return to action on Saturday with a home game against Wyoming. The game is slated for a 1 p.m.
The Filer Wildcat girls picked up the district championship yesterday after winning their game against the Kimberly bulldogs. The score 44 to 38. This is the fifth straight Sawtooth Central Idaho district championship. Kimberly will play in a state-qualifier game and is looking to join Filer. They will take on the winner of McCall-Donnelly and Weiser at 1:00 on Saturday in Mountain Home.
Declo also will be advancing to the state tournament games for the third straight year. They defeated Wendell 40 to 30.
On to the Boys games from yesterday, Oakley defeated Valley 54 to 35. It was Lighthouse Christian 56 to Castleford 47. Minico outlasted Twin Falls 48 to 45. Carey for the win over Murtaugh 50 to 31 and it was Camas County defeating Victory Charter 70 to 37. Canyonridge took the win over Burley with a score of 74 to 60. Dietrich defeated Richfield 63 to 35 and it took overtime for Raft River to defeat Glenns Ferry 65 to 57. Wood River defeated Jerome 58 to 42.
On the varsity boy’s high school basketball schedule for today, Twin Falls Christian Academy will be on the bus to Castleford. Horseshoe Bend will visit Hagerman, Wendell goes to Filer and Kimberly to Gooding.
For the girls as the district tournament moves on, Twin Falls bruins will be on the road to Minico, Mountain Home visits Jerome and Valley and Murtaugh meet up in Jerome.
