In local high school scores from the diamonds, first for Baseball, Lighthouse downed Vision Charter16 to 6. Canyon Ridge defeated Preston in the first game of a double header 5 to 2. Then Preston turned it around with a score of 14 to 3.
In one softball game, Glenns Ferry defeated Greenleaf Friends 14 to 1.
On today’s baseball schedule for local high schools, Mountain Home will visit Twin Falls, Minico travels to Wood River. Wendell goes to Gooding. Buhl to Kimberly. Idaho City will visit Glenns Ferry.
On the softball schedule, Jerome travels to Burley, Mountain Home to Twin Falls, Minico to Wood River, Kimberly to Buhl, Filer to Gooding.
The College of Southern Idaho Men's Rodeo Team extended it's huge lead in the Rocky Mountain Standings with a win this past weekend at the Colorado Mesa University Rodeo. The Golden Eagles scored 785 points. Utah State University was second with 490. The CSI Women's Team did not score at this rodeo. CSI will finish up the regular season April 26th and 27th in Spanish Fork, Utah at the Utah Valley University. The Golden Eagles currently have 5,310 points in the men's standing. Utah Valley is in second with 3,535 points. For the women, Colorado Mesa leads the standings with 3,990 points. CSI is in seventh with 290.
Boise State junior forward Tyson Degenhart has received one of the nation's highest honors. The Spokane, Wash., native has been named a CSC First Team Academic All-American – which makes him only the second player in program history to receive the honor. Degenhart is joined on the first team by Max Abmas from Texas, Brandon Angel from Stanford, Marcus Domask from Illinois and UConn’s Cam Spencer. Degenhart is the only junior on the first team.
